The Issue
Caregiving is emotional work and these professionals deal with pain, joy, anxiety, unhappiness, hope, loss, and anger on a daily basis. Those is high-stress, trauma-exposed environments such as healthcare, the criminal justice sector, social and human services, emergency response, and the armed forces have the highest rates of suicide over any other profession and are prone to burn-out.
Many services are popping up around burnout and labor shortages but they fall short in addressing the unique needs of humans who are wired for caregiving. They often teach people what to do but lack support systems for how to do it. That's where Hope to Healing steps in to help caregivers build sustainable resiliency to help them continue in the hard work of serving others.
